Founded in 2015, Arte de Gema gallery embraces the commitment to represent artists with different expressive varieties. And it has a special focus on valuing
and promoting emerging artists. One of the main objectives is to explore art from a global perspective and challenge emerging talent and established artists, through different curatorial concepts, to look conceptually and at the practical level into different approaches in the production, research and promotion of their artworks professional domains.
The gallery has held several exhibitions in Mozambique and abroad, with the first internationalisation taking place in 2017 with the participation in the 1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair in London. In 2018, the gallery participated in the FNB Johannesburg Art Fair, and in 2019 in Arco Lisboa.
Arte de Gema works with artists from different generations such as Ângela Ferreira, Djive, Gonçalo Mabunda, Félix Mula, Filipe Branquinho, Gemuce, Mauro Pinto, Mudaulane, Jorge Dias, Lourenço Pinto, Ídasse, Reinata, Rodrigo Mabunda, Victor Sousa, among others.
